Yarn, yarn and more yarn

Lately I have been buying more yarn so I am able to make more items for my etsy shop. I haven't made much for a while as I was out of yarn.
This week I have learnt how to make star blankets and I love it! They are so pretty. Here are a few of the bits I've been working on this past week.

I saw a picture of something like this in a magazine in Tesco and came home and decided to try and make something like it myself as it is not something that I have ever done before. It isn't perfect but I think it came out cute.

The finished ducky blanket, It is just sitting in a draw at the moment as I am not sure what to do with him. He was fun to make and it was good to make something different for a change.

My new favourite yarn is by ice yarns, The continuously changing colours are very pretty and look great in bigger projects such as the star blankets that I had brought the yarn for.

The star blanket works up quite fast to begin with then takes a while the bigger it gets. These will be sold in my etsy shop when I have finished a couple of them.

This is the first one I have done and it is almost finished. I love the way the colours of the yarn change as it goes round.

My Erin Condren order arrived

Hello Everyone although I am not convinced that anyone reads my blog so I am probably talking to myself. Anyway after all the problems people had with erin condren I was worried about even ordering, I had some vouchers so thought I might as well go for it, I was ordering my planner for 2016 so there wasn't any rush.
Anyway after around 5 weeks My planner arrived and everything was intact and perfect. To be honest it is just sitting on a shelf at the moment but I will be using it as soon as I have plans to be remembered for next year.

Here are a few pictures of when I got it and unboxed it.

It came in a pretty pink box this time, the last time it was a purple box. Pretty boxes make deliveries even more special.

It came in the pretty box and was nicely packaged as always.

I ordered a planner for 2016, a spare cover and a iphone 5 case to match my planner.

The clear pouch at the back of the planner has these free sample bits of stickers, referral cards and a coil clip.

The quote on this cover is from 'The Silver Chair' by C.S Lewis, I love this quote and even have it tattooed on me.

Another quote on this cover, I wasn't sure how the colours would turn out together but I quite like them.

Subscription Boxes

So who loves subscription boxes?! Everyone does I am sure, I know I do. I have missed getting a surprise box in the post each month since cancelling my geek box so I have signed up to three different subscription boxes that will hopefully be more useful for me. I have signed up for the brimbles box, Okashi Connection and the lucky dip club box. I should be getting them early next month so will be reviewing them so you can all see what I think of them.

A busy week

Last week was super busy for us as my husband had the week off so we tried to do as much as possible with our boys. In Monday we went to Lego land Windsor and stayed over night in the Lego hotel. The price was really over priced but the hotel was amazing! It was good being there Tuesday morning so we could go on the rides as soon as it opened as there were no cues.

The hotel room was so good. My boys loved it, they had clues to solve some questions that gave them the combination to a safe where there was a little Lego toy for each of them.

On Thursday we went and got a pet crested gecko! I've wanted one for ages and had some spare money so we got one. We have called her Doris

Here she is

Friday we went to the Harry Potter studio tour for the 3rd time. They have improved it a lot since we last went. There are new exhibits and finally somewhere to have lunch.
My boys loved the hogwarts express train the most.

Finally have a craft area

I have finally got somewhere to put all of my craft and planner bits as well as some of my books. I have been after some space for me for a while now. We have a massive under stairs cupboard that I hope to use eventually but it is full up of junk and can not see it getting sorted anytime soon so for now I have got a corner in the living room.
We went to ikea last night and brought a desk and a book case. We didn't get in till late and after we had put our boys to bed it was 11pm. We still had to put everything together though as there was no where for it and my boys would of damaged them selves or the boxes if they were just laying around. So I put on x files and got on with it.
The first thing was clearing out the old book case and moving the sofa over a bit, and yes it did look a lot worse before it got better.
There is no way I could of done this while my boys were up.

It was all easy to put together and I actually like doing flat pack!
The only problem we had was that one of the legs for the desk was missing a pack of screws so we used a screw from each of the other legs to secure the other one. If we remember we will put some extra screws in at some point. (there's no way I'm gonna remember)

I am still playing with arranging everything but this is the finished area.
I have my 5 month olds cloth nappys on the black shelve thing on the back of the desk, I am not sure if these will stay here or not yet.

Top half of the shelves have my books, planners, candles and cameras on it.

Big middle shelf has my storage boxes and a few other bits.

The shelves under the desk have disposable nappys for my 2 year old and 5 month old as well as my 2 year olds cloth nappys. Right at the bottom is some of my wool and a box full of random stuff.
